Forrest J Ackerman

Forrest J Ackerman (1916-2008), known more as an editor
than an author, was literary agent for Ray Bradbury, Isaac Asimov, A.E.
Van Vogt, and even Ed Wood for a while. In 1958 Forry started
the ‘60s’ “monster craze” with the publication of the first issue of
Famous Monsters of Filmland Magazine. He was a friend, and hosted
The Boneyard Collection as his character, Dr. Acula. Poe’s
“Raven” was cropped by the copy machine. The clock in the painting
reads 11:58 — the exact minute that Forry passed away. But… I gave
him this acrylic painting several years before that final night.
